p > 0,05, atestando a distribuição normal.
This dissertation aims to investigate which motivational factors influence the employees of
a public educational institution. Motivation for work, according to Pinder (1998, p. 23), "is
a set of energetic forces that originates both in and out of the individual and molds work
behavior by determining its shape, intensity and duration." In this sense, motivational
theories help in understanding the factors involved in the action of the individual. To reach
the objective of this research, was applied the Multi-Motivational Questionnaire elaborated
by A. Ferreira et al. (2006) which aims to identify motivational factors related with work
organization according to Hackman and Oldham's theoretical perspective, achievement and
power according to David McClelland's theory of learned needs, performance according to
Locke & Latham's Goal Setting theory and involvement based on the theory of Allen and
Meyer. The analysis of the data collected in the field research involved the use of descriptive
statistics techniques such as mean, standard deviation, percentage and Cronbach's alpha. For
verification of data normality were used tests like Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk
models and both showed results of p > 0.05, attesting the normal distribution. For analyzes
on how the motivation factors and sociodemographic variables behave t-test and ANOVA
were utilized. The results showed that the motivational factors that influence the sample are,
respectively, the achievement and power factor (M = 3.79), followed by the factors work
organization (M = 3.60), involvement (M = 3, 47) and performance (M = 3.46). In the
correlation of motivational factors and sociodemographic variables, men presented the
highest averages in all factors and the difference was more significant in the factor
achievement and power
