Rol del Sexólogo en elAmbito HospitalarioLucia Baez RomanoHospital de Clinicas Jose de San Martin, ArgentinaIntroducción: El cáncer de pene es una neoplasia pocofrecuente cuyo tratamiento quirúrgico en estadios tem-pranos puede ser curativo, pero conlleva importantesimplicancias estéticas y funcionales que afectan laesfera social y sexual de los hombres y su pareja. El roldel sexologx seria evaluar la calidad de vida y funciónsexual de los pacientes sometidos a penectomía parcialo total por el cáncer de pene.Objetivos: Todos los cánceres con sus tratamientostienen el potencial de afectar negativamente la imagencorporal, la calidad de vida y la sexualidad dismi-nuyendo el funcionamiento sexual y los sentimientosde atracción o deseo sexual. En el caso de laspenectomías parciales y totales, a estas causas dedisfunción sexual se agrega el factor anatómico propiode una cirugía amputativa. Sin embargo, en muchoscasos vemos que no es estrictamente éste el principalfactor causante de los problemas en la esfera sexual.Esto se pone de manifiesto en los numerosos casos enque la función eréctil y orgásmica se mantiene, perodisminuye el deseo sexual y la confianza. Reanudar unencuentro sexual luego de un diagnóstico o de unrégimen de tratamiento puede provocar muchaansiedad, incertidumbre, miedos, temores tanto en elpaciente que padece el cáncer como a su pareja, comoasí también sentimientos de culpa o inhibiciones acercade expresar su propia necesidad física o emocional ode sentirse invadido en su intimidad física.Conclusión: La educación del paciente es un com-ponente importante en el rol del sexologx; dar unaguía anticipatoria mediante la información acerca delos efectos colaterales que se esperan o de las consec-uencias del tratamiento de la enfermedad, puede ayu-dar en relación a disipar los mitos y la desinformacióncomo así también apaciguar los miedos y ansiedades.Se considera crucial para optimizar los resultados laintegración temprana del sexólogo/a dentro del grupode trabajo con estos pacientes, para anticiparnos a loscambios propios del tratamiento, derribar mitos y dis-minuir la ansiedad.Palabras clave: cancer de pene, rol del sexologo,derribar mitosConflicto de interés y declaración de divulgación:NingunoUsing Psychopathy to Identify Differences Between Variants of Juvenile SexOffendersRicardo Barrosoa, Patricia Figueiredob, Eduarda Ramiãob and Kostas FanticaUniversity of Porto, Research Group in Human Sexuality (SexLab); University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, Portugal; bUniversityof Porto, Portugal; cUniversity of Cyprus, CyprusIntroduction & Objectives: According to the litera-ture, offenders with psychopathic traits are often dis-tinguished from other offenders based on behaviouralpatterns or deficits in the processing of emotionalstimuli. One of the aims of this study is to explore thelink between psychopathic traits and different subtypesof juvenile sexual offenders, which very few studieshave attempted to do.Method & Sample: Participants consisted of 270juvenile offenders convicted for sexual offenses (n=141) and non-sexual offenses (n= 129) who were testedwith the Psychopathy Checklist: Youth Version(PCL: YV).INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF SEXUAL HEALTH A351Results: Results indicate that juvenile non-sexualoffenders (JNSO) tend to have a higher prevalence ofpsychopathic traits when compared to juvenile sexualoffenders (JSO). In-depth interviews were under-taken, transcribed and analysed at individual andgroup-level using Interpretative PhenomenologicalAnalysis to capture construction of meaning and diver-sity of individual trajectories.Findings & discussion: Most partners reportedchanges in their sexuality during and long after theend of treatments. There is great individual variabilityin the way changes were experienced, especiallydepending on the meaning and expectancies men haveregarding their own sexuality. Results also highlighteda changing place of sexuality during the cancerjourney. Sexuality was not a major concern at the timeof diagnosis and during active treatments, but it mayregain importance later and changes may become sour-ces of distress. A lack of information and support fromhealth professionals was reported. Overall, sexualityrepresents a significant long-term issue for partners.The experiences of these men are unique and complex.Recommendations: These findings reinforce theneed to acknowledge the sexual needs of male partners,as well as women with breast cancer, by health profes-sionals.
