As intervenções patrimoniais têm sido cada vez mais um dos temasrecorrentes na Arquitectura. Face à consciencialização da importânciadas lições do passado e necessidade da revitalização do edificado existentesurge o interesse e a urgência de perceber como se podem adaptar os modosde vida contemporâneos ás edificações existentes.Neste sentido a presente dissertação, intitulada "Entre a Permanênciae a Transformação: (Re)vitalização do Edifício do Hotel Garantia,"através de uma proposta de reabilitação, explora a problemática de intervençãono património, desde algumas concepções teóricas às vertentesconstrutivas e materiais.A proposta de intervenção recai sobre o Hotel Garantia, construídono século XX e localizado no centro histórico de Vila Nova de Famalicão,que actualmente se encontra parcialmente desactivado.O processo de trabalho passou por uma investigação documentale iconográfica sobre as circunstâncias do lugar e do objecto de estudo, aliadoa um intensivo trabalho de campo. Além disso, a investigação teóricarealizada, os casos de estudo abordados relacionados com intervençõespatrimoniais e as várias considerações tecidas sobre o conteúdo programáticoclarificaram algumas opções projectuais.Por fim, a proposta apresentada traduz-se numa síntese de todasas reflexões realizadas e do cruzamento dos vários temas abordados. A soluçãovisa a coerência entre o novo e o antigo procurando conservar umaidentidade cultural e simultaneamente adaptar o edifício aos novos usoscontemporâneos.The patrimonial interventions have been increasingly showing inArchitecture. In relation to the realization of the importance of the past'slessons and the necessity for the reviving of the building already created,comes up the interest and the urgency to understand how to adapt thecurrents ways of life to the not so current buildings.In this sense this dissertation, titled " Entre a Permanência e aTransformação: (Re)vitalização do Edifício do Hotel Garantia," throughthe proposal of rehabilitation, explores the problem of intervention in thepatrimony, from some theoretical conceptions to the constructive and materialstrands.The intervention proposal falls upon the "Hotel Garantia", fromthe twentieth century and located in the historical centre of the "Vila Novade Famalicão", that is now deactivated.The working process went through a documental and iconographicinvestigation about the circumstances of the spot and the body beingstudied, combined with intensive field work. Besides that, the theoreticalinvestigation conducted and the reviewed related cases with patrimonialinvestigations and the various considerations built about the programmaticcontent, clarified some projectual options.At last, the proposal showed translates itself in a synthesis of allthe thoughts had and the crossing of the various consulted themes. Thesolution tries to provide coherence between the old and the new, lookingto preserve the cultural identity and simultaneously adapt the building tothe new contemporary uses
