A presente dissertação procura explorar o conceito de unidade no confronto com a variedade em Arquitectura. Esta busca apoia-se num exercício de projecto sobre o Monte da Defesa Velha, a partir da sua casa-mãe.A compreensão dessa circunstância assenta em dois momentos, o reconhecimento das partes na relação com o seu todo e a reflexão sobre a unidade e a síntese do projecto. Deste modo, é uma experimentação, uma narrativa que pretende satisfazer a sua inquietação inicial: como organizar um lugar a partir de uma ideia de arquitectura?The current dissertation aims to explore the concept of unity in confrontation with variety in Architecture. This pursuit is sustained by a project exercise in Monte da Defesa Velha, starting from its motherhouse.The understanding of that circumstance is based on two moments, the acknowledgement of the parts in relation with its whole and the reflection on the unity and the synthesis of the project. Therefore, it is an experimentation, a narrative that intends to satisfy its primary concern: how to organize a place from an Architecture idea
