São indiscutíveis os benefícios para a saúde as-sociados à prática de exercício físico (EF) e muitos são os estudos que indicam a existência de uma relação inversamente proporcional entre o EF e risco de doenças do trato GI. No entanto, apesar dos benefícios já cientificamente de-monstrados, a literatura mostra também uma associação importante entre a prática de EF e sintomas GI (náuseas, vómitos, refluxo gastro esofágico (GE), diarreia e hemorragia GI).OBJETIVOS: Estudar a relação entre a ingestão alimentar e a presença de sin-tomas GI em indivíduos praticantes de exercício físico.METODOLOGIA: A recolha de dados foi feita com recurso a um questionário aplicado a 80 indivíduos adultos (30,6±8,6 anos) praticantes de EF (<1mês). Este avaliou: estado nutricional, ingestão alimentar, exercício físico (versão cur-ta International Physical Activity Questionnaire), sintomas GI (Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale) e intolerância à lactose (IL).RESULTADOS: Os sintomas GI afetam cerca de um terço da amostra deste estudo (n=26; 32,5%), um número inferior são afetados por IL (n=21; 26,3%). A inges-tão de suplementos, particularmente os não proteicos, associou-se à presença de sintomas severos de dor abdominal. Também aqueles que apresentavam sintomas mais graves de diarreia apresentavam maior consumo de Vitamina C, maior percentagem de massa isenta de gordura (MIG) e maior prática de EF (>1 ano). Os indivíduos com diagnóstico sugestivo de IL apresentaram sintomatologia mais grave de dor abdominal e um défice no consumo de riboflavina, presente em alimentos como o leite e derivados. Os indivíduos com mais peso, % de MIG e prática de EF estavam associados a um consumo superior (p<0,05) de diversos nutrientes (ex: Energia, proteína, hidratos de carbono). Por fim, indiví-duos que tomavam suplementos proteicos apresentavam também através de fontes alimentares consumos superiores de alguns nutrientes, nomeadamente o magnésio (p<0,05).CONCLUSÕES: Existe uma associação entre a ingestão alimentar, sintomas GI e EF amador. Dor abdominal, refluxo GE, obstipação e diarreia foram aponta-dos como sintomas presentes, tendo o último sido o mais relevante. O estado nutricional, tempo e tipo de EF mostraram estar relacionados com a inges-tão alimentar. The use of cocoa or coconut doesn´t affect the acceptability.CONCLUSIONS: Date puree doesn’t seems a good substitute of sugar, attending to the decrease of acceptability. However, new researches about possible substitutes of added sugar and about the quantities that it should be used are necessary.PO33: FOOD CONSUMPTION DETERMINANTS AT THE WORKPLACE IN EMPLOYEES OF UNIVERSITY OF PORTO: A PILOT STUDY João PM Lima1,2, Ada Rocha1, 21 Faculdade de Ciências da Nutrição e Alimentação da Universidade do Porto2 LAQV-REQUIMTE da Faculdade de Farmácia da Universidade do PortoINTRODUCTION: The food choice is influenced by several factors such as environ-ment, available resources and social relationships, visibility and price of products, preferences, appetite, health as well as our individual history, personal values, perceptions and beliefs, among many others.OBJECTIVES: This work aims to identify the main determinants of food consump-tion, at the workplace of University of Porto’s employees.METHODOLOGY: A cross sectional observational study was conducted at a fa-culty of the University of Porto. Participants were randomly selected. Informed consent was obtained and the purpose of the study was individually explained.Data was obtained through the application of a self-administrated questionnaire. The questionnaire include questions about socio-demographic information and food consumption habits at the workplace. There were assessed 49 individuals either academic and non-academic staff.Data was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 21.0 ® for Windows. Cut-off of 0.05 was used as the level of statistical significance.RESULTS: Participants were aged between 26 to 63 years old (mean 44.9 ± 10.9), 59.2% of female gender. The majority of workers (61.2%) had PhD or a Pos Doc diploma. Generally, workers had a sedentary activity.The respondents identify as the most important determinants to choose the place of having meals, “meals quality” (73.3%), “price” (64.4%) and “location/distance” (60.0%). For women, the determinant “healthy food options” is more important than for  men (p=0.010).People who had lunch at the University Food Services did not express waiting time as a principal determinant of food consumption (p=0.046).
