Grafik düzenleyiciler; yazılı materyallerde var olan bilgilerin öğretilmesini ve öğrenilmesini kolaylaştırmak amacı ile metnin içeriğinin, yapısının ve metinde geçen anahtar kavramların birbirleri ile olan ilişkilerinin, bağlantılar ve oklar vasıtasıyla ifade edildiği görsel araçlardır. Sosyal Bilgiler, genellikle sosyal bilimlerin temel kazanımlarının aktarıldığı bir derstir. Buna bağlı olarak, bu derslerdeki bilgi yoğunluğu da diğer derslerden daha fazladır. Dolayısıyla, Sosyal Bilgilerde görsel araçlardan yararlanılması, öğrenme sürecini olumlu yönde etkilemesi açısından önemlidir. Bu makalede, grafik düzenleyiciler hakkında bilgi verilerek, bu araçların kullanımının, Sosyal Bilgiler derslerinde öğrencilerin akademik bilgiyi elde etmelerine etkisinin olup olmadığı incelenmiştir. Çalışmada, ön test ve son test uygulamalarına yer verilen deneysel bir yöntem kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın deney grubunu, Ankara ili Merkez Elmadağ ilçesi Lalahan Karşıyaka İlköğretim okulu 7/A sınıfı öğrencileri (n:23), kontrol grubunu ise; aynı okulda öğrenim gören 7/B sınıfı (n:23) öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Deneysel uygulama sırasında deney grubunda; venn diyagramı, örümcek haritası, balık kılçığı haritası, kıyaslama/zıtlık matriksi, bağlantı ağacı, problem/çözüm ana hattı, olay zinciri ve halkadan oluşan grafik düzenleyiciler kullanılmıştır. Kontrol grubunda herhangi bir grafik düzenleyici kullanılmamış, sadece geleneksel öğretim yöntem ve araçlarından yararlanılmıştır. Çalışmanın deneysel uygulama boyutu sonucunda elde edilen veriler incelendiği zaman, Sosyal Bilgiler dersinde grafik düzenleyicilerin kullanımının öğrencilerin akademik bilgiyi elde etmelerine olumlu yönde etki ettiği tespit edilmiştir.Graphic organizers are the visual tools that the relations between text contest, its structure and the key concepts in the text are expressed with the help of connections and arrows to make the teaching and learning of the informations which are in written texts easier. The social studies especially is the course which main acquires of social sciences are transfered. In the respect of that thought, the information density in this course is much more than other courses. So the benefit from graphic organizers is important from the point of view that it is influencing the learning process in a positive line of thought. In this article while the information about graphic organizers is given, whether it has an effect in students’ obtaining the academical knowledge has been worked. In the work, pre-test and post-test which taken placed are practiced. The experimental group of the research is consists of the students whom are in the city of Ankara the district of ElmadağLalahan Karşıyaka Primary School, 7/A class (n:23), and the control group of this search is consists of the same school’s 7/B class (n:23) At the time of experiment the graphic organizers are used like; Venn diagramme, Spider map, the fish bone map, compare/contrast matrix, network tree, problem-solution outline, serios of events chain and cycle. But in the control group non of graphic organizers is used, only traditional teaching methods and tools are benefited from. When the datas which are acquired in the consequence of experimental practice dimension of the work, are examined, it is determined that usage of graphic organizers is influences the process of students’ obtaining the information in a positive aspect
