Deiksis Dalam Film Me Before You Karya Alison Owen (Suatu Analisis Pragmatik)

Abstract

This research entitled “Deiksis dalam Film Me before You Karya Alison Owen”. There are 5 types of deixis, those are: person deixis (first person, second person, and third person), place deixis, time deixis, discourse deixis, and social deixis. The objectives of research are to identify and classify the types of deixis and then analyze how deixis are used in the movie Me before You by Alison owen. The data of deixis have been taken from the sentences in the movie Me before You. The research uses descriptive method supported by Levinson\u27s theory. The result of this research shows that there are five types of deixis found in the movie Me before You by Alison Owen, those are person deixis (first person : I, me, my, and our second person : you and your, and third person : we, he, and his), place deixis : home, here, castle, and kitchen, time deixis : now, when, week, today, and tomorrow, discourse deixis : that and this, and social deixis which is about the different social class between human, those are low class, middle class, and high class societies : pretty waitress, premier badges holders, madame, and head of maintance.
