Multiphase flow is widespreadin various fields, including power, chemical, petroleum,food, biomedical, metallurgical, nuclear, and hydraulic engi-neering. Specifically, in oil field, multiphase flow inducesmany problems ranging from reservoir to pipeline network.Studies on phase distribution and heat or mass transfer arefundamental to give insight into the complicated principleand the application prospect. The papers selected for thistopical issue concentrate on numerical work that illustratesthe practical problem and optimizes the production process.As such, they provide timely and valuable research results inpetroleum field that we are pleased to share with the readers.We would like to thank all the authors for submitting theirnice papers and all the referees for their excellent feedback.This special issue includes five papers, where two paperscover the coalbed methane production, with one related toroute optimization and the other concerning production sim-ulation and deliverability forecast. One paper represents thestructure optimization of liquid-gas separators by numericalsimulation. In addition, one paper simulates the influenceof fluid parameters on the vibration of pipeline. Finally,one paper presents both the experimental and simulatedobservation on the transition criterion from the stratified flowto other flow patterns in gas-hydrate slurry flow.In the paper entitled “Route Optimization of Pipeline inGas-Liquid Two-Phase Flow Based on Genetic Algorithm,” J.Zhou et al. establish an automatic route optimization modelsolved by the combination of Generic Algorithm and steady-state Generic Algorithm and discuss the influence of theparameter setting on the results. This method is also appliedto determining the pipeline route in coalbed methane field inShanxi Province, China, and proved to be feasible.In the paper “Numerical Simulation on Structure Opti-mization of Liquid-Gas Cylindrical Cyclone Separator,” P.Chang et al. represent a three-dimensional turbulence modelto describe themultiphase flowfield in the cylindrical cycloneseparators which is widely used in industrial process andalso investigate the dependence of separation efficiency onthe separator length, the gas phase outlet diameter, and theinlet shape. Therefore, the optimal geometrical structure ofthe separator achieving a high efficiency of 86.15% is given bythe author.In the paper entitled “Study on Influence of Fluid Param-eters on Axial Coupled Vibration of Pipeline ConveyingMultiphase Flow,”M. Chen et al. analyze the effect of the fluidparameters, including void fraction, density ratio, and elasticmodulus ratio between solid phase and liquid phase, on thedynamic vibration of the pipe system conveying multiphaseflow by numerical models when the valve at the end of pipeis rapidly closed.In the paper “Coalbed Methane Production SystemSimulation and Deliverability Forecasting: Coupled SurfaceNetwork/Wellbore/Reservoir Calculation,” J. Zhou et al.predicts 10 years’ water and gas production and formationpressure of a Coalbed methane field with coupled sur-face/wellbore/reservoir calculation architecture. This paperdescribes the wellbore pressure drop simulation model,HindawiInternational Journal of Chemical EngineeringVolume 2017, Article ID 5083086, 2 pageshttps://doi.org/10.1155/2017/50830862 International Journal of Chemical Engineeringsurface pipeline network simulation model, and reservoircalculation model of CBM.In the paper entitled “Investigation on the TransitionCriterion of Smooth Stratified Flow to Other Flow Patternsfor Gas-Hydrate Slurry Flow,” B.
