Challenges encountered in the economic evaluation of medical devices

Abstract

This thesis concerns the linking together of the challenges encountered in the economic evaluation of medical devices and credible ways of performing economic evaluation in such a scenario. Although the standard methods of estimating cost-effectiveness have gained widespread acceptance, there are concerns around the methods for conducting economic evaluation in the health technology assessment of devices.
