Abstract

Devotion To The Virgin Mary In Liturgy And People's Religiousness This bachelor work deals with the topic of the devotion to the Virgin Mary. It looks at its different forms in the liturgy and people's religiousness. It stems from historical and theological links. It describes different forms of people's religiousness in dependence on the liturgical year which is reflected in both liturgical celebration and people's religiousness. Particular attention is paid to the origin of feasts and of selected forms of people's religiousness linked with the devotion to the Virgin Mary. One whole part of the work looks at the phenomenon of pilgrimages and their origin. It also focuses on places of pilgrimage that are often devoted to the Virgin Mary. Final chapter leads the reader into different perceptions of the devotion to the Virgin Mary in the Western and Eastern tradition.
