Cover Protects Critical Electrical Connectors

Against Damage During Handling

This split-half cover is designed to protect critical, 
expensive cable connectors from damage during hand-
ling. The special connector shown in the photographs 
has a locking mechanism and anodized surface finish 
which are not adequately protected by the conven-
tional dust cover. Use of the new split-half cover has 
eliminated the surface marring and dirt penetration 
problems previously encountered during handling 
and cable assembly. 
To protect a connector, the two plastic halves of 
the protector are mated to the unit and a metal re-
taining ring is slipped over the assembly to lock the 
two halves in place. The transparent plastic sleeve 
shown in the photographs is an optional component 
which ma y be used for grommet and pin protection.
Complete Cover Assembly 
A dust cap which would also be required for the open 
cable end of the connector is not shown in the photo-
graphs.
