[Resumen] Afrontar la muerte de un niño es una de las situaciones más difíciles y
estresantes que los profesionales de enfermería deben experimentar a lo largo
de su carrera profesional. Se muestran diferentes posturas contrapuestas tales
como miedo o incertidumbre a la hora de afrontar la situación ante ellos
mismos y ante los padres. Por la escasez de estudios en España, por la
importancia del tema y por las dificultades de los profesionales de enfermería,
se decide realizar un proyecto de investigación donde nos planteamos la
siguiente pregunta de investigación: ¿Cómo afronta el personal de enfermería
la muerte de un neonato?
El objetivo de este estudio es conocer las dificultades a las que se enfrentan
los profesionales de enfermería de la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Pediátrica
(UCIP) del Complejo Hospitalario Universitario de Ferrol (CHUF) a la muerte
de un neonato, con el fin de elaborar una guía de estrategias, para poder
manejar la situación.
La metodología de este proyecto de investigación es cualitativa, y con una
perspectiva fenomenológica. Se llevarán a cabo entrevistas semiestructuradas
a los profesionales de enfermería que trabajan en dicha unidad.[Abstract] To face up to the death of a child is one of the most difficult and stressful
situations that the nursing professionals must experience along their career.
Different and opposing attitudes, such as the fear or the incertitude, appear
when they have to face up to the situation with themselves and with the
parents. Due to the shortage of studies in Spain, the importance of the topic
and the difficulties of the professionals of nursing, it is decided to make a
research project in which we approach the following research question: How do
personnel of nursing face up to the death of a newborn?
The aim of this study is to know the difficulties to which the professionals of
nursing of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the University Hospital Complex
of Ferrol (Arquitecto Marcide) must face up to in case of the death of a
newborn, in order to prepare a strategies guideline and be able to handle the
situation.
The methodology of this study is a qualitative research with a
phenomenological perspective. There will be carried out semistructured
interviews to the professionals of nursing who are employed at the abovementioned
