This pictorial carpet (tāblo-farsh) looks just like a painting. This essay explores the designs of these pictorial carpets and reveals their trends, focusing on product catalogs for distributors. (2) In addition, although most of the pictorial carpets are duplicated from original paintings as-is, in some cases, the carpet designers correct the details and crop unwanted areas from the originals to improve framing as an expression of their own creativity. (3) Apart from carpets duplicating Western and Iranian masterpieces, there are also some original designs copying local landscapes like orchards and gardens of the Sardroud region, a major production hub for pictorial carpets in Iran.研究ノー
