Variation inter arbre des lipides de safou (Dacryodes edulis) en tant qu'indicateur de la biodiversité : mise au point méthodologique

Abstract

The selection of the best individuals is a precondition to the development of extensive safou tree farming for the production of oil in sufficient yield and constant quality Thus, tree-to-tree variation of safou pulp or seed oil composition from a same ecological area was studied in order to highlight chemical biodiversity Current quantitative methods, in particular those used in triacylglycerols (TAG) analysis are time consuming and hard. High performance liquid chromatography analysis provided with an evaporative light scattering detector (HPLC/ELSD), while allowing a very good resolution of the peaks, makes possible a fast and reliable comparison of oils via radar plot representations. This paper presents this method and its validation by comparison with the quantitative ones. This study also establishes that safou tree crop, directed by the market, reduces oil chemical composition viability
