Taimi Piin-Aaspõllu was a renowned repre- sentative of the Estonian school of lichenologists whose passion for lichens set an example for many of us. She was a long-term member of the International Association for Lichenology (IAL), and was awarded the Order of the National Coat of Arms, 5th Class.
