Automatic Raga Recognition in Hindustani Classical Music

Abstract

Raga is the central melodic concept in Hindustani Classical Music. It has a complex structure, often characterized by pathos. In this paper, we describe a technique for Automatic Raga Recognition, based on pitch distributions.
