Abstract
Research on The Growth Seaweed Gracilaria sp. with different planting method in Kalianda waters, south Lampung was held in May to June 2010. The purpose of the study, is knowing and analyzing the comparison the planting method with growth of Gracilaria sp. by measuring : average weight, growth rate, and growth relative. The data were analyzed using T test for two independent samples was used to assess whether the planting average use long line method and off bottom method statistically different each other. The results obtained showed that long line method more effective than off bottom method. The average added weight of Gracilaria sp. by using long line method is 33.15 gr. The highest growth rate obtained on long line method of 4.445 %gr/day. Growth relative length was obtained on long line method for 2.009 gr
