Keragaman Sumber Daya Genetik Tanaman Buah-buahan Eksotik Di Kabupaten Bintan, Provinsi Kepulauan Riau

Abstract

Indonesia has diversity of the genetic resources of tropical fruits. More than 400 kinds of indigenous fruits in Indonesia, including exotic tropical fruits. Today most of them have not been inventoried well. The research was aimed to obtain information diversity, morphological description and the utilization of genetic resources exotic fruits. The study conducted at four districts in Bintan Riau Islands province, namely Teluk Sebong, Teluk Bintan, Sri Kuala Lobam, and Toapaya. The method used was survey with 20 respondents selected by purposive random sampling and field observations. The exotic fruits inventoried from yards and farm belongs respondents. The data collected was location and the coordinate point of genetic resources exotic fruit, the type of plant and the main morphological description. The results showed there are seven types of indigenous exotic fruits in Bintan regency, namely rukam (Flacourtia rukam), namnam (Cynometra cauliflora), jeruk kunci (Citrus amblycarpa), sawo mangga (Pouteria Caimito), lobi-lobi (Flacourtia inermis), durian daun (Durio zibethinus L.), and jamblang (Syzigum cumini). Utilization of local exotic fruit currently only consumed as fresh fruit. There is the potential use of exotic fruit into fungsional food or fruit preparations to increase the added valueof the fruit
