Abstract

The train is a mode of transportation that has the ability to transport passengers and goods in bulk, saving energy, saving the use of space, has a high safety factor, low pollution levels, as well as more efficient to transport over long distances. However, railway performance has a major problem, as reflected in the delay, with the main indicators of speed and travel time. The purpose of this study is to optimize travel time and determine the factors that cause train delays. In this study, train speed was simulated using the software developed based on Newton\u27s equation of the dynamic equations and applied in the area of Regional Operations 8 Surabaya, for Bojonegoro-Kandangan corridor. The results indicate that the train travel time can be accelerated and the accretion of coach 1 to 5 coaches for all train classes does not add the travel time significantly
