Sawala Luhung is the particular meeting held by Adat Karuhun Urang society to discuss various important
problems. Participants of the meeting used various address terms to interact during the meeting. By
sociolinguistics approach, this research aims to examine the variation of address terms used in Sawala
Luhung and the factors influenced to the use. Recording and note taking are conducted in the observation
to gain the data. The result show that there are nine variations of address terms such as kinship term, kinship
term+name, title, age, title+age, personal name, kinship term+title+name, honorific term+title+age and no
name. Factors influenced to the use of the address terms are setting, sosial status, age, sex, family
relationship and honorific language system
