Play on Words: Assessing the Influence of Language Context on Repetitive Speech in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Abstract

This study explored whether language structure impacts repetitive speech use in children with ASD. Five children with ASD were analyzed for the frequency and type of repetitive speech used in two differing tasks: storytelling (more-structured) and play-based (less-structured).
