A construção da Nação cabo-verdiana decorreu de processos históricos, de
movimentos culturais e da formação de uma consciência nacional. Este estudo
revela-se importante quando analisado à luz da existência de um Estado e de uma
Nação, sendo aquele uma criação recente. Se, por um lado, após o povoamento
das ilhas do arquipélago já se arquitetava uma identidade ainda que de forma
incipiente, por outro, esta permitiu, ao longo do tempo, a construção de uma Nação
que se encontra ativamente em processo de consolidação. Procura-se analisar o
debate que se tem verificado desde os finais do século XIX até à atualidade, onde
se demarcam novas práticas e estruturas que explicam o processo de construção
da Nação em Cabo Verde.The construction of the Cape Verdean Nation developed from historical
processes, cultural movements and the formation of a national consciousness.
This study proves to be important when analyzed at the light of the existence of
a State and a nation, being the first a recent creation. If, on the one hand, after
the settlement of the islands of the archipelago it has already being planned
an identity even in an incipient way, on the other, this has allowed, over time,
the building of a nation in an active process of consolidation. The study aims
to analyze the debate that has been verified since the late 19th century to the
present, where new practices and structures are marked, and explain the process
of nation-building in Cape Verde
