Das Projekt EcoOrchard: Förderung der funktionellen Agro- Biodiversität im Ökologischen Obstbau

Abstract

Research institutes and universities of nine European countries are involved in the research project EcoOrchard to develop appropriate strategies to promote functional agro-biodiversity in organic pome fruit production. Therefore field trials have been laid out at different sites in seven member states in 2015, where flower strips were sown into the inter-rows of the orchards. Natural antagonists like Syrphidae, Coccinelidae and parasitoids of codling moth are supposed to be promoted with these additional floral ressources. Besides faunal and floristic studies, practical methods and indicators have been worked out to monitor functional biodiversity
