Around half of the world’s annual timber production is processed into paper.
For its part in the use of this commodity, it seems that the public administration in
Poland does not implement the principle of sustainable development. However, there
are legal instruments available to change this situation. These are the regulations
concerning the computerization of government and the specifi cs of the exchange
of information by electronic means (including electronic documents), as well as
conducting paperless administrative proceedings. At the same time the existence of
