A knowledge questionnairewas administered to a random sampleof 30 nurses and 30 student nurses who workedin hospitals where powdered latex gloves wereused. Overall, nurses and student nurses gavecorrect responses to 27% and 28% of the questions,respectively. There was no statisticallysignificant difference in knowledge betweennurses and student nurses. Both nurses andstudent nurses in Thailand have insufficientknowledge about latex allergy and its risk factors.Additional continuing education should beprovided to reduce the probability of adversereactions in sensitized staff and patients in Thaihospitals
