Any group care centre has in various ways to incorporate aspects of treatment, teaching, nurturance and control according to the specific needs of the children referred there. Yet experience has shown that the ethos of most group care centres is heavily dominated by the single yet simplistic purpose that underpins the resource system sponsoring a centre.
