STACHOWICZ4 STRESZCZENIE: W prezentowanej pracy przedstawiono wyniki badan wplywu metody utwardzania na podstawowe wlasciwosci masy formierskiej ze szklem wodnym takie jak: wytrzymalosé na zginanie i rozci<\ganie. Stwierdzono bardzo istotny wplyw mikrofal na proces suszenia. Wykazano, ze wszystkie, uzyte w badaniach, gatunki szkla wodnego sodowego o module od 2,0 do 3,3 mogél_ znalezé zastosowanie jako spoiwo mas formierskich przeznaczonych do utwardzania w procesie nagrzewania mikrofalowego. Analizujél_c wyniki badan wlasciwosci mas formierskich z dodatkiem 2,5 % szkla wodnego utwardzanych mikrofalowo stwierdzono, ze wartosci wytrzymalošci na zginanie i rozci<\ganie Sél. dziesi�ciokrotnie wi�ksze w porównaniu do klasycznego procesu CO2. Mikrofalowe utwardzanie mas formierskich ze szklem wodnym gwarantuje, poza istotnym skróceniem czasu procesu, perní\_ stabilizacj� ich wlašciwošci oraz znacznie rnniejsze zuzycie energii, a ponadto mozliwošé zmniejszenia ilošci stosowanego spoiwa i przez to popraw� wybijalnosci mas. Mikrofalowe nagrzewanie mas ze szklem wodnym stwarza, poprzez odpowiedni dobór parametrów procesu, mozliwosé prognozowania ich wlašciwošci i sterowania nimi. ABSTRACT: At the presented work research findings of the influence of hardening the method on basic properties of moulding sand with the water glass so as: bending and tensile strength and thelt has been found that microwaves are of great importance for curing process. It has been proved, that all the investigated sorts of sodium water glass of2.0 to 3.3 module could be used as binding material of molding sands intended for curing with the microwave process. Analysing research findings of the property of moulding sand with the addition of the 2.5 % water glass microwawe hardened they stated that value ofthe resistance to bending and stretching was ten times bigger in comparing to the CO2 process. Microwave curing of water glass moldings sands guarantees, apart from a significant process time reduction, a full stabilization of their properties as well as considerable lower energy consumption and allows for amount reduction of the used binding agent and, as a result, improvement of knock-out properties of the sands. Microwave heating of water glass· molding sands, through suitable process parameter selection, results in the possibility of forecasting and control of their properties.
