Abstract

Cilj ovog diplomskog rada je prikaz jednog segmenta komunikacije Donalda Trumpa u vrijeme predsjedničke predizborne kampanje 2016. godine, a to je odašiljanje poruka putem društvene mreže Twitter. Kroz kvalitativnu analizu njegovog teksta u Twitter objavama, prikaza konteksta u kojem se on obraća svojoj publici, biračima, ali i suparnicima, Trump se prikazuje kao populist koji je iskoristio povoljnu situaciju u Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama pod kraj drugog mandata svog prethodnika Barracka Obame te pomoću društvene mreže Twitter uspio u svom naumu da ostvari dva cilja – prvi da postane republikanski kandidat, a na kraju i predsjednik SAD-a.The main aim of this graduate thesis is to show a certain segment of Donald Trump's communication during the 2016 election campaign, and the segment are messages that he was sending out via social network Twitter. Trough qualitative analysis of text in his Twitter posts, as well as representing contextual portrayal of his appeal to the audience and voters, but also to his opponents, Trump is being presented as populist who has taken advantage of the favorable situation in the United States at the end of the second term of his predecessor Barrack Obama, to pursue two goals - the first to become a Republican candidate, and ultimately to become the president of the United States
