Abstract

THE TOTAL OF Escherichia coli COUNT IN FRESH MILK OF ETAWAH CROSS BREED IN IBUH VILLAGE WEST PAYAKUMBUH SUBDISTRICT WEST SUMATERA PROVINCE ABSTRACTThis research was done to count the total of Escherichia coli in fresh milk of etawah cross breed in Ibuh Village, West Payakumbuh Subdistrict, West Sumatera Province. Samples were twelve of fresh milk that taken from dairy farm in the Ibuh Village, West Payakumbuh Subdistrict, West Sumatera Province. Samples were taken three times with an interval of one week. Bacteria was counted using total plate count (TPC) method based on Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI) by serial dilution (10-1-10-5). The result of this research shows that no Escherichia coli detected in fresh milk from Ibuh Village, West Payakumbuh, West Sumatera Province. It can be concluded that the fresh milk in the dairy farm in Ibuh Village, West Payakumbuh Subdistrict, West Sumatra province, not contaminated with Escherichia coli
