In this review work we have studied on homotopy properties of CW-complexes with an emphasis on finite dimensional CW-complexes. We have first given a brief introduction on basic definitions from the general topology and then have discussed the homotopy theory for general topological spaces. Basic definitions and constructions of homotopy and CW-complexes have been discussed exhaustively.
