Phonetic peculiarities of the concept «fear» manifestation in prose (on the basis of H. Lovecraft’s short stories)

Abstract

In this study we make an attempt to research the phonetic peculiarities of the lexical material, chosen for verbalization of the concept sphere in the prose works. The approach used is based on the idea that the choice of lexical units is based not only on the semantics but also on their phonetic specific traits, which provoke a certain image in the process of reading, thus stimulating the creation of a certain concept in the recepient’s psychic sphere
