In the past decade, academic libraries have experienced dramatic change. Various developments including new information and communication technologies and new pedagogies as well as changes in how students learn are transforming the traditional role of libraries. In response, libraries are adopting a broader educational role in creating flexible, technology-rich learning spaces. This paper will trace the progress of a major library refurbishment project at Bond University illustrating how these trends have shaped the project.
