32 XIII International Symposium RREPS-19, 15-20 September 2019, Belgorod, RussiaPositron Source based on Coherent Bremsstrahlung of10-50 MeV ElectronsS.V.Abdrashitova,b,1, S.B.Dabagovc,d,e, Yu.P.Kunashenkof ,Yu.L.Pivovarovaa National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University, Tomsk, Russiab National Research Tomsk State University, Tomsk, Russiac INFN Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati, Frascati, Italyd RAS PN Lebedev Physical Institute Moscow, Russiae National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, Moscow, Russiaf Tomsk State Pedagogical University, Tomsk, RussiaConventional positron sources are based on the conversion of bremsstrahlungfrom relativistic electrons into electron-positron pairs.Reasonably effective approach for a positron source known as a ”hybrid” solution[1, 2] is using a multi-GeV electron beam for production of channeling radiation(CR) in a crystalline target (radiator) with its subsequent conversion into electron-positron pairs in amorphous target (convertor).The total yields and energy spectraof positrons produced in both thin [3] and thick [4] amorphous W converters byconversion bremsstrahlung and axial channeling radiation of electrons in a thinW crystalline radiator were calculated using approach proposed in [5], revealingthe advantages in the use of channeling phenomenon for getting higher positronfluxes.On the contrary to channeling radiation from relativistic particles, coherentbremsstrahlung is characterized by higher radiation frequencies at lower energiesof charged particles crossing the crystal, the radiation intensity of which exceedthose for bremsstrahlung. This feature can be applied for obtaining an effectivepositron source at much lower electron energies. In this report we considerthe radiator-converter approach for calculating total yield and energy spectra ofpositrons produced by bremsstrahlung and coherent bremsstrahlung (CB) usingthe formulae of Ref. [6] from 10-50 MeV electrons in Si and Ge crystalline radiatorsand W amorphous converter.
