Abstract
A lo largo de la historia se ha tratado de utilizar la educación para diversos fines. Los autores que analizo en este trabajo en un siglo convulsionado por guerras civiles y religiosas, comprendieron era esencial sentar las bases de la teoría del Estado, fundándose en la figura de un monarca con poderes absolutos. Mientras Bodin subordina este poder a las leyes divinas y naturales, Hobbes considera que nada limita al soberano. Ambos necesitaron de la educación para poder llevar a cabo su cometido y que éste fuese perdurable en el tiempo.Throughout history, we have tried to use education for various purposes. The authors, that are analyzed in this work in a century convulsed by civil and religious wars, understood that it was essential to lay the foundations of the theory of the State, based on the figure of a monarch with absolute powers. While Bodin subordinates this power to the divine and natural laws, Hobbes considers that nothing limits the sovereign.
