Morphology and biology of the immature stages of Marilia cinerea and M. elongata, with redescriptions of adult male of M. cinerea (Trichoptera: Odontoceridae)
The Trichoptera fauna from Las Yungas from northwestern Argentina and southern Bolivia is poorly known. There are 30 Neotropical species in the genus Marilia Müller, but only in four the adults have been associated with the immature stages in spite of their abundance and ecological importance. In this study the male genitalia of M. cinerea Navás is re-described and illustrated to complete the original description. The immature stages of M. cinerea and M. elongata Martynov were associated using the metamorphotype method. Illustrations, descriptions and biological observations are included. M. cinerea is a new record for Bolivia and new localities in northwestern Argentina. M. elongata and M. flexulosa Ulmer were registered for the first time for northwestern Argentina.La fauna de Trichoptera de Las Yungas del noroeste de Argentina y sur de Bolivia es poco conocida en la actualidad. De las aproximadamente 30 especies Neotropicales para el género Marilia Muller, sólo se han podido asociar a sus respectivos adultos los estados preimaginales de cuatro especies, a pesar de su importancia ecológica y de ser éstos los estados más conspicuos y abundantes. En el presente trabajo se redescribe e ilustra la genitalia del macho adulto de M. cinerea Navás. Se usó el método del metamorfotipo y se realizaron las asociaciones de los estados inmaduros de M. cinerea y M. elongata Martynov, se incluyen descripciones, ilustraciones y datos sobre hábitat y biología de los mismos. M. cinerea se cita por primera vez para Bolivia y nuevas localidades del noroeste de Argentina.
