Disparities between the different ways that Freud theorize about seduction: Reality or fantasy?

Abstract

Freud construyó su teoría de la seducción en 1896. A pesar de que la abandonó al año siguiente, no comunicó ese cambio sino unos años más tarde. Sin embargo, a lo largo de sus escritos psicoanalíticos volvió en reiteradas ocasiones a lo sucedido en 1896. Así, construyó interpretaciones muy distintas acerca de su hipótesis de la seducción. El objetivo de este escrito es revisar esas interpretaciones y sugerir algunas explicaciones de sus mutuas diferencias. Al final de su doctrina, el creador del psicoanálisis afirmó que las escenas de seducción eran siempre fantasías; por el contrario, en las versiones más tempranas, se afirmaba ya sea la realidad de los hechos, ya la imposibilidad de establecer esa discriminación.Freud built his seduction theory in 1896. Although he abandoned it one year later, he reported this change some time after. In spite of that, along his psychoanalitic writings he continued returning to what happened in 1896. Thus, he created very different interpretations about his seduction hypothesis. The aim of this paper is to review these interpretations and suggest some explanations for the differences among them. At the end of his doctrine, the father of psychoanalysis stated that the scenes of seduction were always fantasies; on the contrary, in the earlier versions of his interpretations he affirmed either the reality of the facts, or the impossibility of making such discrimination between reality or fantasy.Fil: Vallejo, Mauro Sebastián.
