En este artículo se reflexiona sobre las consecuencias de la fundación de colonias agrícolas tras la línea de frontera norte de la provincia de Santa Fe (Argentina). Colonia California, Galesa, Eloisa y Alexandra son abordadas como un todo analítico en relación a los factores que afectan su desarrollo productivo y social. Estos asentamientos de inmigrantes extranjeros conviven entre la civilización y la barbarie, civilización que dicen traer consigo y barbarie que ven personificada en los grupos indígenas de la región, siendo una deseada y la otra rechazada por los sectores gobernantes de la segunda mitad del siglo XIX.In this paper we discuss the consequences of the foundation of agricultural colonies behind the northern frontier line of the province of Santa Fe (Argentina). Colonia California, Galesa, Eloisa and Alexandra are addressed as an analytical whole in relation to the factors affecting their productive and social development. These settlements of foreign immigrants coexist between civilization and barbarism, the civilization they claim to bring with them and the barbarism they see depicted in the groups indigenous to the region, the former sought after and the latter rejected by the governing sectors in the second half of the 19th century.Fil: Dosztal, Irene.
