Design urbano : o espaço público como local de trabalho

Abstract

The present dissertation "Urban Design - Public Space as a Place of Work" aims to highlight the importance of the creation of workspaces in urban public places. Urban public spaces have, over time, been a meeting place in people's lives, and continue to be central to everyday life, as they foster important linkages. The city is today composed of a great multiculturalism and exchange of inhabitants that help to define also its public and private space, where new habits and new actions are developed. Due to these new city dynamics, the existence of these places is increasingly pressing because they allow meeting, promote and stimulate interaction, communication and creativity. Increasingly, the demand for the outdoor environment is encouraged as an alternative to closed working environments. Thus, urban space, even when it has some limitations, remains a place of meeting and social interaction among citizens, as it is a promoter for this type of coexistence, which can awaken these new contemporary work practices and vitalize the exchange new synergies so important in our times. With the creation and implementation of new concepts and environments that serve this purpose, design can have a structural / conceptual role in this environment, as well as in the alteration and improvement of people's quality of life. The objective of this research is to correspond to the opportunity of having public spaces that present an urban furniture that satisfies and provides citizens with the possibility of enjoying it in various forms such as: meeting, sharing, exchanging ideas, interpersonal relationships, that is, of work. With this study and analysis it is assumed that there will be more and more relevant and necessary public space sites for a population that is constantly mobile and dynamic working people everywhere. These spaces aim to contribute to the revitalization of the use of the public space as a promoter of social relation
