Expanding morality: reflections on the moral consideration of nature

Abstract

En el presente artículo se analiza los problemas que se derivan de una concepción estrecha de la moral que afirma que frente a la naturaleza no humana sólo existen deberes indirectos y obligaciones morales débiles. Apelando a tres posiciones, la antropocéntrica, la biocéntrica y la estética, se busca resaltar la necesidad de vincular aspectos deontológicos con teleológicos de modo tal que desde un antropocentrismo práctico, responsable y reflexivo se pueda afrontar positivamente el reto de una consideración moral de la naturalezaThis paper analyzes the problems derived from a narrow conception of morality which claims that in regards to non-human nature, we only have indirect duties and weak moral obligations.
