The objects of the study are students of the Ural State University of Railways and the Ural State Agricultural University. The main source of empirical data was the survey conducted by the authors in March 2016 among students of the above mentioned universities. The subject of research are socio-demographic characteristics of students at the beginning and the end of training, their professional structure, satisfaction with the ongoing activities of professional orientation, the advantages and disadvantages of the current system, some aspects of the organization of vocational guidance.Объектом исследования являются студенты Уральского государственного университета путей сообщения и Уральского государственного аграрного университета. Основным источником эмпирических данных стал опрос, проведенный авторами в марте 2016 года среди студентов вышеуказанных ВУЗов. Предметом исследования являются социально-демографические характеристики студентов в начале и конце обучения, их профессиональная структура, удовлетворенность проводимыми профориентционными мероприятиями, преимущества и недостатки существующей системой, некоторые аспекты организации профориентации
