Its origins are unknown except that it was used in the 1970s for research by the anthropology department.  Content Description This collection contains correspondence between members of the American Baptist Church. Letters are sent between family members within the U.S. and also between members of the church in the United States and Baptist missionaries in India. The letters mostly include information on family and personal life. In addition, the collection possesses religious articles, paraphernalia, poems and sermons. The collector of these items is unknown.  Restrictions on Access Access is by appointment only. Please contact the archivist to make an appointment. Arrangement  The collection is arranged into five boxes containing personal and work-related letters written by and to B.B.S. and D.F.S., as well as religious articles and documents created between 1847 and 1939. Box 1 contains letters written to Eddie and Delia Smith by B.B.S. and D.F.S. and others. Box 2 contains letters written to and from B.B.S. and D.F.S. and their respective families. Box 3 contains letters written to and from B.B.S. and D.F.S. with Ina Crawford. Box 4 contains religious articles and mission-related letters. Box 5 contains miscellaneous letters and documents, postmortem documents, and empty envelopes.
