Value per ton also established a record high at $1,300 perton, up $120 per ton from a year earlier. Yield per acre was about average though some production was lost due to frost. Two varieties, PinotNoir and Pinot Gris accounted for 300 more harvested acres this year. However, 200 fewer acres of Chardonnay were harvested. Syrah andCabernet Franc acreages show significant new plantings although still included in “all other” varieties. Funding for the 1999 survey wasprovided by the Oregon Wine Advisory Board.
