Letter Written by Katherine Trickey to Her Folks Dated March 31, 1945

Abstract

[Transcription begins] 31 Mar 45 Dear Folks, Sat again and payday and the afternoon off! Not bad, not bad at all. I’m going in town to see if I can buy some underclothes and a pair of shorts. I went to a Good Friday Cantata at the Presbyterian Church last night after Glee Club. It was fairly good – but it was so warm and stuffy I could scarcely stay awake. I stayed home both Wed & Thursday evenings which is quite a record for me. Played tennis a while Wed evening. -2- I’m enclosing a money order for 20.00whichIhopewillcoverthecostofpaintingthecarandmaybegiveyouafewdollarsforanythingelseyouwishIwishitcouldbemorebutIamsending20.00 which I hope will cover the cost of painting the car and maybe give you a few dollars for anything else you wish – I wish it could be more but I am sending 25 to college again which will finish that bill at last. I must stop now and get this mailed. Love to all Kay [Transcription ends
