Väre (2012) typified most of them, but one of the spe-cies, A. hirsuticaulis H.Lindb., was accidentally missing from his account. There are two such sheets (syntypes) at Helsinki (H): H-375813(!) (5. June) and H-375815(!) (8. June). [Buch collected two additional specimens (H-375824(!), H-375825(!)) in June 1903 from Lapp vesi [= Lappee], which was the rural mu-nicipality surrounding Lappeenranta town at the time and later (1967) annexed to it. These speci-mens are not part of the original material.]Lindberg (1904) wrote in the protologue: ”Ex-emplaren från sistnämnda ort [i.e. Kuopio] gå enl. Buser’s bearbetning i Mela’s flora under namn af A. colorata Bus.” In 1909 he (Lindberg 1909) wrote: ”Dezember 1898 revidierte R. Buser die von Mela gesammelten Pflanzen und indentifi-zierte dieselben mit A. colorata Bus.” Based on his wording it seems evident that the original ma-terial from Kuopio consists only of those speci-mens annotated by Buser in 1898. The only spec-imens from Kuopio collected before the species description and determined by R. Buser as Alche-milla colorata, were collected in June and August 1898 from Piispantori by A.J. Mela. The four her-barium sheets (syntypes) belong to two collec-tions made on 26. June (H-373749(!)) and 16. Au-gust (H-373751(!), H-373755(!), H-373759(!)). There are probably no duplicates of any of these collections or other original material from these localities in Finnish herbaria, at least such spec-imens cannot be found in the Finnish Biodiver-sity Information Facility (https://laji.fi/en) or the na-tional floristic database maintained by the Botan-ical Museum at H. Lindberg published a photograph of one of the syntypes from Lappeenranta (H-375813) in his 1909 article (Lindberg 1909: Plate 1). This il-lustrated specimen was also chosen here as the lectotype (Fig. 1.). It is a representative and well-grown plant collected in early June showing all the diagnostic characters of the species.
