Model for the curricular design of training projects under the competence approach: Background for its application

Abstract

El presente trabajo es el resultado de la Tesis Doctoral llevada a cabo por el autor, en la Universidad de Playa Ancha, Chile, en el marco del programa de Doctorado en Políticas y Gestión Educativa, bajo la dirección del Profesor Guía Sr. Claudio Figueroa López (Ph.D). En él se presentan algunos antecedentes de lo que fue la investigación realizada en cuatro (4) universidades del Consejo de Rectores de Universidades de Valparaíso (CRUV), en diferentes carreras de Ingeniería, donde se pudo encuestar a sesenta y seis (66) académicos y entrevistar a cinco (5) profesores que participaron en diferentes innovaciones curriculares bajo enfoque de competencias. Luego, con base en los hallazgos encontrados, se establecen algunas conclusiones en función de los objetivos específicos de la investigación. Finalmente, con base en la investigación, el autor propone un modelo integrador para llevar a cabo cualquier proceso de innovación curricular con enfoque de competencias en la formación profesional de pregradoThe following work is the result of the Doctoral Thesis carried out by the author at the University of Playa Ancha, Chile within the framework of the Doctorate in Administration and Politics in Education, under the direction of the supervisor professor Mr. Claudio Figueroa López (Ph.D.). This thesis shows some of the major findings of the research conducted at four universities belonging to the Assembly of Chancellors of Valparaiso (CRUV) within different majors in engineering, where sixty-six academics were surveyed and five other professors participated in different innovative curriculum models, whose major focus was on competences. Thereafter, based on the evidence found; several conclusions were established in function with specific objectives of this research. Finally, based on the investigation, the author proposes an integral model in order to carry out any process on curricular innovation based on competences for undergraduate students
