El impacto del trastorno límite de la personalidad en la familia y la influencia del cuidado enfermero

Abstract

Trabajo fin de grado en EnfermeríaObjetivos: Conocer el impacto emocional, físico, social y del desarrollo, que supone un trastorno límite de la personalidad en el entorno familiar y la salud de sus miembros, a fin de establecer el rol del profesional de enfermería en este campo. Metodología: Se llevó a cabo una búsqueda sistematizada de publicaciones en 6 bases de datos de Ciencias de la Salud: PubMed, Wiley Online Library, Cinahl, Cuiden, Scielo y Lilacs. Se recabaron un total de 28 documentos. Tras aplicar los criterios de inclusión y exclusión, se seleccionaron 19 artículos para la muestra definitiva. Resultados: El análisis de los artículos evidenció la existencia de un importante impacto en la familia en las esferas emocional, social y del desarrollo, especialmente en la infancia, la relación de pareja y el cuidador principal. Además, se encontraron terapias familiares existentes en la actualidad, como el programa Family Connections. Sin embargo, la gran mayoría de las terapias se enfocan al cuidado de los hijos y a la inclusión de la familia en el proceso rehabilitador. Por otra parte, en cuanto al rol de enfermería, la bibliografía desarrolla el cuidado al paciente con TLP y en menor medida la atención a la familia, relegada a un segundo plano. Conclusión: El impacto del TLP en el entorno familiar y la salud de sus miembros se considera negativo. Este hecho demuestra la necesidad de cuidado por parte del profesional de enfermería hacia los familiares, siendo precisa una investigación más exhaustiva sobre su abordaje. Este trabajo propone un ejemplo del Proceso de Atención de Enfermería en estos casosObjectives: To study the influence of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) over the family environment and the emotional, physical and social health of its members as well as the effect it has on development stages, aiming to stablish the role of nursing towards this subject. Method: A systematic literature research was conducted on 6 Health Science databases: PubMed, Cinahl, Wiley Online Library, Cuiden, Scielo and Lilacs. Up to 28 articles regarding the matter of interest were gathered. Finally, a total of 19 articles were selected once inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied. Results: Through the analysis of the publications chosen, it was evinced BPD exerts a huge influence over family environment, development stages and the emotional and social health of its members, being the partners and main caregivers the most affected. In addition to this acquired facts, results showed a few family therapies applicable nowadays, such as the Family Connections programme. Nevertheless, a great majority of those therapeutic approaches are focused on either allowing families to be part of the rehabilitation process or teaching parents adaptative manners on the upbringing of their children. As for the role of nursing, the assistance given to families is way less developed than it is to the person diagnosed with BPD. Conclusion: The influence BPD has over family and its health can be considered as adverse. This reality points out the responsibility of the nursing staff towards their care, requiring further investigation on the topic.
