Abstract
En este trabajo se intenta ofrecer un análisis de las diferentes titulaciones que portaron y adoptaron los gobernantes musulmanes a través de las crónicas cristianas de los siglos xi, xii y xiii. ¿Llegaron los cristianos a mencionar a los gobernantes musulmanes con sus auténticas titulaciones?, ¿diferenciaron, al menos, entre diversas posibilidades que ayuden a jerarquizar autoridades? El artículo busca responder a estas cuestiones. Se trata de una aproximación a un tema no demasiado tratado y que resulta interesante desde el punto de vista de las relaciones entre cristianos y musulmanes. Esto me permitirá hacer un estudio más amplio, a nivel occidental, para ver el tratamiento que recibieron los gobernantes islámicos en diferentes contextos y poder establecer comparaciones con el caso peninsularIn this essay it is analysed the different official titles used by Muslim rulers
through the eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth-century Christian chronicles. Did Christians refer Muslim rulers with their authentic titles? Did they distinguish, at least, among several possibilities that help to organize authorities hierarchically? The article tries to answer these issues. It deals with a little explored topic that it is interesting from the point of view of the relations between Christians and Muslims.
