Comparative Study of Conventional And Minimum Quantity Lubrication During Machining 17-4PH Stainless Steel

Abstract

Machining of different material with the conventional water soluble cutting oils have some challenges because of poor machinability characteristics. Many technology have been developed but minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) is the most frequent as it has merits over conventional cooling. The current work is focused upon the benefits of MQL over conventional cooling. Here the process parameter was compared for the machining of 17-4PH stainless steel. It was observed that machining with MQL cooling technique gave better properties compare to conventional cooling. In addition to all those thing grey relational analysis (GRA) method was applied to determine the optimal solution. It clearly show that MQL environmental condition is a better way of machining 17-4PH stainless steel
