The Edinburgh Napier ensemble will be performing two works during the intermission between theat NSU and from John Moores University in Liverpool, England. Accompanied live by an orchestra from Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland, the dancers and orchestra utilize streaming technology to sync the music and performances from thousands of miles apart.This year’s event, entitled “3 &10: Across the Pond,” will feature a brand new dance work (The Handsome Moon) as well as original music inspired by the composer’s residency in Japan. The John Moores University dancers will also be pieces. It creates an integration like no other which only helps improve students’ craft in their respective discipline, but also collaboration in general.Why did you choose NSU?I felt God led me to the institution. Being led to NSU allowed me to walk in my artistic abilities as a whole while having the opportunity to be involved with a numerous amount of artistic influences.What are your plans after graduation?I plan to begin a career as a multidisciplinary creative director/artist with a focus in choreography and coaching. Furthermore, soon after receiving a possible masters in Dance, I plan on opening up a performance arts company dedicated to all art forms with primary focuses on crafting, education, community, and Christianity.Cl ass of201 7S h a r k s  o n  t h e  S c e n e3Dr. Michael Reiter of NSU’s Depart-ment of Family Therapy and Music alum (2015) released a new album last month entitled “Belonging.” He utilized the talents of NSU students for the vocals, including PVA students Jessica Elalouf (2018?) and Mackenzie Anderson (2017). This album is the fifth album available to the public on Bandcamp. If you would like to listen to the songs and download the album for free, click on the picture above to access Dr. Reiter’s Bandcamp page.Current and past NSU students that landed the gigI BOOKED IT!Mackenzie Anderson (B.A. Theatre and Music, 2017) was hired to be a part of an alcohol and drug abuse awareness campaign video for The Bouganvilla House in Fort Lauderdale in collaboration with Digital Cut Productions.Theatre minor Brianne Bailey (2017)was chosen to model at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. She represented NSU and the USA for a week in the company of the prince of Abu Dhabi and some of the greatest racers in the world.Photo cred. Assistant Professor of Art and DesignFaculty Member since 2016 S h a r k s  i n  t h e  W i l d :  G r a d u a t e s  i n  t h e  r e a l  w o r l dMalika Kuzibaeva graduated in 2016 with a B.A. in Art and Design. She was recently hired to be the NSU Fort Lauderdale Art Museum’s resident graphic design artist. She also created the logo for the Art Infested Water publication, and the current layout is based on some of her original designs. Malika’s website is https://malikatravels.wordpress.com. Click on Malika’s photo below to watch a spotlight interview with her conducted before her graduation!Stephan Pineda , a Theatre graduate of 2015, was a regular cast member in produc-tions at NSU and is now the Production Assistant for Fantasy Theatre Factory, Florida’s top children’s theatre company. He stages manages and performs all over Florida with many of their multiple productions. She painted live on December 3rd  at the Catalina Hotel in South Beach, Miami. “I want my images to help educate, commu-nicate, and foster uncomfortable topics that we seem to look past or avoid in our multi-cultural society,” Kandy explains in her artist’s statement regarding the works,4A work from the Armour collectionpoor communities in the US, these portraits help me, as a female Afro-Dominican Amer-ican, come to terms with the way I too have adopted and performed identities of survival.”entitled Armour. “Representing individuals withinPhoto cred.
