We always have a season filled with amazing shows that students can be involved in. Performing every semester has helped me grow and given me a greater love for dance and performing.Why did you choose NSU?I started as a biology major, but switched during my sophomore year because I realized that dance is my true passion. I knew I’d found my home in NSU after watching the dance showcases and meeting the professors in the DPVA.What are your plans after graduation?I plan on making my way to New York, where I’ll start out performing and making connections so that I can eventually start doing my own choreography for Broadway musicals. LedfordTheatre Technical ManagerStaff Member since 2008 S h a r k s  i n  t h e  W i l d :  G r a d u a t e s  i n  t h e  r e a l  w o r l dEmma Magner  graduated in 2014 with Bachelor’s degrees in both Theatre and MarineBiology. She is the Director of Audience Relations andSocial Media at Thinking Cap Theatre in Fort Lauderdale. DPVA Chair Mark Duncan is the Managing Director and Associate Producer for Thinking Cap. Emma regularly participates in Thinking Cap productions on- and off-stage. She also was an actor in the South Florida One-Minute Play Festival in January.Mariah Busk  received her B.A. in Theatre from NSU in 2016, and is most notably known at NSU for her performance as Hamlet in the DPVA’s 10th anniversary production of the eponymous Shakespeare play. Mariah is a company member at Thinking Cap Theatre in Fort Lauderdale and is still an active actress within the South Florida theatre community.NSU productions directed by Margaret:A Piece of My Heart by Shirley Lauro; Stop Kiss by Diana Son; Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, Or What You Will; Doubt by John Patrick Shanley; Sylvia by A.R. Gurney; Once Upon a Mattress by Rodgers and HammersteinMargaret M. Ledford has established herself as a vital part not only of the DPVA, but of the entire South Florida theatre scene. Margaret, an active member of the Actor’s Equity Association, began as a stage manager and has gone on to be nominated for nine Carbonell Awards for Best Directing, and was the recipient of a Carbonell for Best Lighting Design. She has also won multiple Silver Palm Awards for direction. She has directed at numerous professional theatres, including New Theatre, City Theatre, Mosaic Theatre, Thinking Cap Theatre, and many more. Her most recent work as a director was at Palm Beach Drama Works for Domestic Animals by Jennifer Faletto, a play about a woman whose husband dies in the Vietnam War. Don DiNicola is a composer, record producer, and music supervisor who is known for his work in film and television. Based in New York City, he has been in the industry for over 15 years, writing music for PBS, A&E, HBO, TLC, Discovery Channel, and Sundance.
